About Tom Zajac
Tom is a dedicated filmmaker and community advocate based in Berkshire, with a passion for empowering marginalized and hard-to-reach communities, through impactful storytelling. Via the NGO - Real Time, he leads the weekly Open Mind mental health filmmakers’ group at the Rising Sun Arts Centre in Reading, fostering creative expression.
With 30 years of video production experience, Tom is proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro and DaVinci. His international portfolio includes corporate films across all major European cities and documentaries in Mexico, Bosnia, Poland, Italy, the Philippines, Bangladesh, and Kenya. His work has been showcased at New York University and featured in The Guardian Online.
Previously, Tom founded Stand Up Cinema, a Berkshire-based event that showcased emerging filmmakers’ work, alongside experimental short film festivals at local arts centres.
A graduate of Bournemouth University, Tom is fluent in Polish and excels in producing, directing, cinematography, editing, and training. In his spare time, he explores obscure films, collaborates with local artists, and leads public arts workshops.
